What is georgian swimming?

Georgian swimming is the practice of swimming in the country of Georgia, located in the Caucasus region of Eurasia. The country has a long history of aquatic sports, including swimming, diving, and water polo.

Swimming in Georgia is mainly practiced in indoor and outdoor pools, as well as in natural bodies of water such as Black Sea beaches, rivers, and lakes. Georgian swimmers compete at local and international levels, with the Georgian Swimming Federation being the governing body for the sport in the country.

Some of the notable Georgian swimmers include Shalva Gogoladze, who won silver medals at the European Swimming Championships in 2008 and 2010, and Lika Meskhidze, who won two gold medals at the 2019 European Youth Olympic Festival.
